The ViewSonic G is an amazing piece of hardware, suffocating under the oppressive weight of a bloated, inefficient and rather unnecessary software pack that comes built in. If you're comfortable screwing around with things that could potentially turn your new tablet into a rather expensive paperweight, as well as most certainly destroying your warrenty, this is the tablet for you. Since this tablet offers the most bang for your buck at the present time, a large community has grown around it, and they have developed a fairly simple way to replace the repulsive custom version of Android ViewSonic forced on it with a stock version, which includes the regular suite of google software (such as the android marketplace). This becomes quite the impressive device with a clean copy of Android, having some of the most powerful chips currently available. The design is good enough, and it's rather sturdy, so you don't have to worry too much about it breaking. For those of you who haven't been taken in by Apple's reality distortion field, rooting this is probably your best option right now.
