The screen is nearly as responsive (even though this is resistive and NOT capacitive) and the speed is comparable. The only thing lacking is the larger screen (Xoom has 10.1), the massive amount of memory in the Xoom (32GB), the slightly more responsive screen and an older Android version (2.3 on Skypad compared to 3.2 on Xoom).
The tablet is very fast on boot and very fast once it is booted. Most apps load within a second or two and it is very rare to see an application that needs a force close.
